Kamal Singh Negi
Kamal’s journey began not in boardrooms but in the heart of Uttarakhand, where access to reliable electricity often felt like a luxury. Driven by a desire to bring light—literally and figuratively—into underserved communities, Kamal immersed himself in understanding the technical and financial aspects of solar power.
Armed with little more than determination and an instinct for innovation, he spent years studying solar infrastructure, troubleshooting systems manually, and learning firsthand how to match technology with local needs.
The path was far from easy. In the early years, Kamal faced resistance from skeptical customers, unreliable suppliers, and fluctuating market conditions. Navigating rural terrain with limited logistical support, he often had to transport equipment himself and work around-the-clock to meet project deadlines. Financial constraints meant bootstrapping operations, taking personal risks, and at times, sacrificing immediate comfort for long-term sustainability.
